Work with us to help improve local wheelchair services

08/06/2018

Join the Wheelchair User's Forum for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

Our next meeting is on Monday 25th June 2018, 11.30am – 1.30pm
The Studio, Pendrill Court, Ermine St North, Papworth Everard, Cambridge CB23 3UY

Wheelchair services in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough are currently being re-tendered by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group who plan and pay for these services. The new contract will start in 2019.

Our Sitting Comfortably report published in 2016 found that wheelchair services in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough are often poorly co-ordinated, with people waiting too long for wheelchairs and repairs.

We helped set this forum last year with Cambridgeshire Alliance for Independent Living (CAIL) to feedback the lived experiences of wheelchair users into the service redesign. We felt it was vital to have this service user input so that future services better meets the needs of local people. We now host the forums following the closure of CAIL at the end of March 2018.

Are you a wheelchair user and would like to get involved in shaping better services?

At this meeting we’ll be having an update on the wheelchair tender.
