Have your say on our area's new autism stategy
The All-Age Autism Strategy for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough has been published and sets out the goals and priorities for supporting autistic people of all ages from now until 2026.
And local people are invited to read the proposals and give their views in a public consultation, which launched this week.
Our Healthwatch has been involved in shaping the plan and shared the views and lived experiences of autistic people in our area through our Autistic Voices Report published in May.
The new strategy spells out how:
- Local authorities and health commissioners want to provide services and give support for autistic people of all ages – children, young people and adults.
- Autistic people and their families and carers will be included in developing services and making decisions.
- Organisations and local partners can work together to make life better for autistic people in our area.
- Training and awareness will be a priority so that services such as health and social care better understand autistic people's needs – and how to adjust to best help them.
